Description
Paul Franklin is a lecturer of dentistry at the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK. His Showcase example is highly visual in nature and deals with the anatomical aspects of jaw movement. During lectures and lab sessions, he uses his switchboards to highlight specific details of whatever procedures happen to be under discussion at the moment. Here you see devices (articulators) used to examine a patient's particular jaw movements using plaster models of their teeth and a mechanical device that simulates the movements of the jaws.
Refer to this model as an excellent example of how Variation #4 (visual-to-visual) can aid instructors in their visual communication activities.
