Description

Roman Forker is a German graduate student who spent time recently as a visiting scholar in a University of Arizona chemistry lab. He experiments with depositing organic molecules onto substrates, with the goal of forming new and highly efficient semiconductors for use in solar and computer applications.

Needless to say, describing this work to lay people who are not skilled in the intricacies of organic chemistry can be challenging. So he makes his descriptions come alive with supporting visuals that show various aspects of his working environment and tools. Some of the images is this presentation are small furnaces that heat the chemicals. Most of the larger pieces of equipment in the pictures are used for cleaning. Having the pictures dynamically available from a showcase switchboard helps him easily weave these images into random discussions.
