  • www.workcommunication.co.uk Go here for an excellent source of articles focusing on effective communication in the work place. The authors explore numerous topics for minimizing interpersonal conflicts among staff members, as well as ways of improving the overall professionalism of interactions.

Books:

  • Presentation Zen by Garr Renolds. Good book on slide design, keeping displays simple and graphically rich.
  • Clear and to the Point by Stephen Kosslyn. This Harvard professor has spent more than 40 years focusing on brain visualization and knows what he's talking about. This book focuses on eight cognitive principles that are important to consider when designing presentations.

Design:

  • Visualizing.org If you are looking for ideas on how to visualize data, this site (in partnership with GE) will keep you busy for awhile. You'll find many visual examples to peruse—and perhaps emulate—across a diverse range of subjects and countries.

General PowerPoint:

  • indezine.com Geetesh Bajaj, a Microsoft PowerPoint MVP, runs this site and it contains a wealth of PowerPoint-related content. If you have a question on general presentation issues, go here first.
  • Microsoft Office Online The PowerPoint area of Office Online will keep you busy for the rest of your life. There's a lot of good stuff there, including access to many stock photos and tutorials. You might even see one of our articles there.
  • Ellen Finkelstein Ellen Finkelstein, another Microsoft PowerPoint MVP, is a vast source of presentation knowledge that spans the gamut of presentation design, deliver skills, sales, and more. Visit her site and sign up to receive the newsletter for regular deliveries of helpful content.
  • readysetpresent.com This site is stocked with a wide variety of reproducible presentation content, products, and resources, such as PowerPoint quotes, workbooks, maps, graphics, templates, and more.

  • e-junkie.com For those of you who sell presentation-related products, especially digital files for download, we HIGHLY recommend this low-cost shopping cart system. We use it on our site and it's the best solution we've found so far.

It automates many aspects of interactive presentation design, such as creating multi-layer menu bars and animated navigation. The user interface is well-designed and intuitive. As this software evolves, it may become the best way to design visually interactive slide shows into the future.
  • Perspector Perspector software transforms ordinary bullet lists into stylish graphics with a mere two clicks. Build sophisticated 3D shapes and charts that improve the professional appearance of presentation content. Perspector Pro produces 3D images of other slides and is helpful for relational presentation navigation strategies.
