The Seven Phases of Network Development

Phase 7— Maintenance and Follow-up: Over time, the network will grow and change as needs and perspectives fluctuate. Anticipate this process from the beginning and budget maintenance funds. After using the network in the field for awhile, presenters gain insight into how the design can be augmented or improved. Also, decisions may have been made back in Phase 4 to delay starting parts of the network. These delayed components should be scheduled for later consideration during Phase 7.

Finally, it's inevitable that people come and go. At some point, additional training may be needed to refresh the development team or welcome new members. In some cases, it's appropriate to take the extra step of certifying an onsite trainer who can conduct such events internally.
