Showcase Navigation Template

Showcase Navigation PowerPoint Interactivity Flexible Slide Show Showcase navigation is a simple and effective way of quickly accessing individual slides from a collection of related slides—such as spontaneously showing a particular product from a catalogue of product options. The process is a back-and-forth movement between a slide called a dashboard, that contains all the relevant links, and content slides that hold text, pictures, charts, video, and so forth. The presenter clicks an option on the dashboard to display desired content, and then returns to the dashboard for more options. Any option can be chosen at any time, in any order.

Showcase navigation can have either text-based or thumbnail-based navigation elements (see examples below). Some people prefer thumbnail links because the small pictures give presentation materials a professional look, show previews of available slides and occupy less space—enabling more links per area.

Others prefer text links, especially in certain situations. Text links require less time to make and modify, don't increase file size, and are better if many slides in a show look alike—for example, when slide content is mostly bullet points, tables, and so forth.

A rule of thumb: If slides contain a lot of visually descriptive pictures or graphics, go with thumbnails. Otherwise if slides are mostly text, use text links.
